We have many amazing people with interesting stories that walk into all our gyms! The member spotlight turns to Bradley Wiedenhofer a BJJ student at South Yarra.

Name: Bradley Wiedenhofer
Sport: Brazilian jiu jitsu
Occupation: Retail manager

How did they get into the sport?
Grew up watching UFC and thought that the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ground game and the grappling side of things looked amazing. So me and a friend of mine checked out where the nearest Black belt was in South Australia and went down to have our first lesson. I have loved it ever since.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Old hahaha.. I hope in 5 years to have my Black Belt. I would like to of done many more competitions overseas and locally. And I would also like to be still competing in 5 years and maybe of medaled at the ADCC qualifiers.

Why do you love training at Absolute MMA?
Coaches Liv, Craig, Lachlan & Thiago, there wealth of knowledge is amazing and there are always open to spend time with you improve you and your skills and trying new techniques that you would like to use. My teammates and friends that I have at Absolute MMA is also the other reason I train there. I have made some amazing friends while being at Absolute that test me every time I step onto the mats. And that are also willing to lend a hand in and out of the gym. Also the open door policy that anyone from any gym can train there and kindness and hospitality towards the people that come to train from the coaches and teammates at Absolute is amazing.

What advice would you give to people to take up your sport?
Have Fun, train as much as possible, train not just at your gym but any gym you can, make friends, learn everything you can. Technique, technique, technique! And most of all enjoy your journey. It’s a long road so take your time and don’t rush going from one belt to another enjoy yourself.
