Occupation: Student and project manager

Martial Arts/Sports: Boxing

How did you get into the sport?

A friend convinced me to give it a go a few years ago – after 6 months of nagging I gave in, only to realise I loved it haha!

What are your immediate training goals?

To start competing in boxing, learn and grow together with the other boxers and most importantly, have FUN!!!

Why do you love training at Absolute MMA?

The people – doesn’t matter if you’re having a ‘rainy day’ – when you walk into the gym you’re always met with smiles, high fives and hugs (pointing at Em), and banter – lots of banter (friendly of course).

Favourite workout/walkout song?

Kanye West – POWER

What do you like to do to relax besides training?

Spend time in nature/outdoors, read and spend time with friends.

Can you tell us about where you’re from and any interesting stories growing up? If you’re not originally from Melbourne, how’d you end up living in Melbourne, Australia?

I grew up in a tiny village of 6000 people in southern Sweden and am the youngest of three siblings. My family calls me ‘the little ghost’ as I often woke up in the middle of the night when I was little, and tip toed into my parents bedroom when I couldn’t sleep.

When I was 19, I had enough of the Swedish climate and travelled to Sydney where I lived for 6.5 years – then got bored and moved to Melbourne. Oh and also – my first overseas trip as a 10 month old was to Australia – where I took my first steps. It was meant to be!

Who are the kind of people that you look up to and why?

Oh…everyone – love how we’re all so different and have so much to share with one another – there is always something to learn from everyone you meet.

What’s your favourite place to eat in Melbourne and your #1 dish recommendation?

Urban Projuice in South Melbourne – and everything on the menu!

If you could go back in time to your first martial art class, what would be the advice you give to your past self?

Patience, patience, patience (I still say this to myself every day…).

“You think her guns are big? Her heart is bigger. <3 <3”- Carmen He

“Linnea is one of the sweetest, kindest souls I know…but as soon as she steps into the gym she’s an absolute monster! Giving her best to each session, perfecting her technique, learning from and sharing tips with her peers. Oh and make sure you keep those hands up, she’s not scared to teach you a lesson or two. ” – Priya Johal

“Linnea ‘Scandinavian Assassin’ is an asset to the Absolute Gym. She is always there with a smile and motivated. Her dedication and work ethic is second to none. You know when she is your training partner you are going to get a great workout, with no time to slack off.”- Karman Moodley

“What can I say about my Swed! Don’t get intimidated by those gorgeous eyes, it may look like she is looking at you from afar, but really you’re being rejected with her being too focused on her destination. Linnea is a feisty hunny, but also one strong women who is growing her strengths to be an amazing fighter one day. She focuses on her techniques the most but also remembers to stretch out all over the mat to get her hips moving, and flow those hits smoothly. Definitely one of my main partners in class who pushes herself to the limit but also makes sure to have a good little boogie in between.”- Jackie Tan

“She’s training hard, and improving her boxing consistently. Best of luck to her in the future to do well in boxing and achieve her goals!” – Coach Pradeep Singh Sihag
