Weekend Wrap Up! Hyperfly, VAMAA, BJJ World Pro, Kunlun!

Another epic weekend for team Absolute!
Our team continues to grow and improve!

In BJJ Craig Jones competed in Hyperfly Australia Black Belt Invitational for Team Australia in which they won their division! Over at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation BJJ World Pro Livia Gluchowska took out third place in the Brown/ Black Belt Division! We also had Kit Dale, Mikael T Yahaya and Lachlan Giles all compete but unfortunately not coming away with the wins! They all put on great performance against the world’s elite!

Our amateur boxers had a hard day at the office, Steve, Antonia losing close fights against heavier opponents. In K1/Muaythai we had Darren and Rob Pelle win via UPD and Juan losing via SPD on the the VAMAA show in Doncaster!

In China on Kunlun Fight Claire Fury made a massive statement on the international circuit with her transition to K1 and won via UPD!

Well done to all for your hard work and dedication!

Kids BJJ Results!

8 Kids from Absolute MMA competed this weekend!
Gretchen (6yrs old), Fletcher (7), Eddie (6), Maxxy (8), Jonah and Jayda (7), Nacinta (9), and Logan (9)

All the kids performed amazingly! Some of them were even in the same division duking out a friendly but competitive match!

The Dominance kids competition was an amazingly run competition and 3 of our students manage to take home some medals!

Nacinta takes the gold for her division! Her progress and her dedication has been amazing! I’m looking forward to seeing more of her potential!

Logan placed 2nd with a silver medal after only having less than 10 classes! He really impressed everyone with his athletic style and strong will!

Maxxy got the gold medal he’s been hunting! He’s been training awhile now with me. He has a very exciting style and we look forward to seeing him compete again.

Claire “Fury” China Fight!

Super excited to announce that Claire will be fighting on Kunlun Fight in China on 23rd April! This is a massive opportunity on such a huge platform. Fighting tough Chinese fighter Zhang Meng.

Weekend Wrap Up: Ultimate Promotions, John Famechon State Cup, Powerplay Promotions, Hybrid Grappling

Mixed bag of results this weekend for team Absolute none the less great work to all who represented us so well! On Friday we had Joseph and Fei fight on Ultimate Promotions Joseph coming away with a UPD win! Saturday was a packed out day! With our boxers Steve, Antonia, Finn and Andrei competing in the morning at the John Famechon State Cup Tournament and our Thai/Kickboxers Albert and Rob competing at night on Powerplay Promotions. Steve and Antonia came away with the wins, with Steve also receiving best boxer in the tournament. Albert and Rob came close but both came off second best both losing very close fights by SPD! We also had Cooper take away Gold in the Hybrid Grappling!

New St Kilda Timetable!

New facility, new timetable! Our St Kilda timetable has some big additions starting on Monday, March 20th!

There are too many new classes and changes to list here so we suggest checking out the full timetable yourself for all the details!

New St Kilda Timetable

(Note that changes are primarily to the BJJ program at this point. More additions to the MMA/Striking program coming soon.)

Labour Day Public Holiday

There will be no classes at any Absolute location on Monday, 13 March due to the Labour Day Public Holiday.

Our new St Kilda gym will host an open mat from 10am to 12pm. If you’re looking for a roll, try to get to St Kilda!

The CBD will be open from 1pm to 2.30pm.

Collingwood will be closed for the day.
