It’s another busy weekend for the Absolute Fight Team with 4 of our boxers set to step into the ring under the guidance of Pradeep Singh Sihag!

Tim, Seamus & Sam will be fighting on Saturday 14th November from 10:30am at 2 Constance Street in St Albans and Jaskirat will be fighting at the Reggio Calabria Club, West Brunswick on Sunday 15th November from 12:30pm.

The #1 ranked UFC Strawweight and 3-time BJJ World Champion Claudinha Gadelha dropped into Absolute MMA Melbourne CBD this morning to join our BJJ class! Thanks to Rodolfo Marques for organising Claudinha’s visit and for joining us for the session!

How awesome is MMA!? There aren’t many other sports where you get the opportunity to train and learn directly from the very best athletes in the world!

If you missed Mark Hunt in the gym today, he will be back at Absolute this Friday from 5PM! Meet the legend before his fight this weekend at UFC 193!

Love fight week! First we had Joanna Jedrzejczyk stop into the gym to train with our own BJJ World Champion, coach Livia Gluchowska and today we have Mark Hunt and Soa “The Hulk” Palelei in the gym to do a session!

What a weekend for the Absolute Fight Team!

On Saturday night we had Teherah Noori and Kosuke Oishi competing in Muay Thai at Warrior’s Way. Taherah fought a good, aggressive fight and came away with the unanimous decision whereas Kosuke was hurt early but bounced back to make it to the final bell, although he wasn’t able to win the judge’s favor.

Sunday night we had Darren Gn, Andre Nguyen and Rhylie Kim making their professional MMA debuts in the cage at Gold Rush in Ballarat and what an outstanding night for us! Andre and Rhylie won decisions in very tough, hard-fought bouts while Darren put on one of the performances of the year, completely outclassing his more experienced opponent to get a dominant TKO win!

It was also a huge week for our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu team, with some huge results from the No-Gi World Championships in the States and Grappling Industries and the Renegade comp locally.

Craig Jones was incredible at the World Championships – winning 5 matches all by submission to become the become purple belt World Champion. Shantelle Thompson also came away with bronze in her division.

Despite also having a huge team at the Renegade comp, Absolute/Maromba won both the gi and no-gi divisions at Grappling Industries with a special mention going out to Shaun Ogilvy for winning the cash in advanced open weight no gi division. There were countless other wins and medals won by the BJJ team as a whole – well done to everyone!

A big thank you to all of the coaches for your tireless efforts with the competitors and thank you to everyone else who got out there to support your team mates! Weekends like this really reinforce our love for what we do!

First up we have Absolute’s Taherah Noori and Kosuke Oishi returning to the Muay Thai ring at Warrior’s Way 14! The fights will be taking place at the Doncaster Shoppingtown Hotel from 6.00PM and you can find more info on the event page.

Then on Sunday we have Absolute’s Darren Gn, Andre Nguyen, Adam Abdulhak and Rhylie Kim competing in MMA bouts at Gold Rush down in Ballarat. You can find more info about this fight night on the event page too.

An exciting weekend! If you are able to make it down to the events it’d be great to see some strong support there for the guys!

Absolute MMA is proud to present submission grappling legend Dean Lister!

An ADCC Champion, ADCC Superfight Champion and ADCC Open Weight Champion, Lister is renown for having one of the most dangerous leg-lock games in submission grappling. One Saturday, November 14th from 5PM, Dean will present a 3 hour seminar at Absolute MMA Melbourne CBD.

What a way to get excited for UFC 193!

On November 29 from 11AM, we are excited to have Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion, 2-time No-Gi BJJ World Champion and Australian women’s BJJ pioneer, Sophia Drysdale teaching a seminar at Absolute MMA Melbourne CBD!

If you pre-register at CBD reception, the seminar will be $60 for Absolute members and $65 for non-members. Tickets at the door will be $75.
