Coach Gustavo Falciroli captured the Bragging Rights Bantamweight Championship with a D’arce Choke in Perth on Sunday and so he now holds the AFC Bantamweight Title, CFC Bantamweight Title and now the Bragging Rights strap!
Not one to rest on his laurels, Gustavo will be back in action at Hex Fight Series on October 31st!

This week we were privileged to have some of the very biggest stars in MMA come to visit Absolute MMA!
On Tuesday we had the two biggest names in MMA, UFC President Dana White and UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey come in to the CBD gym to shoot an interview with A Current Affair! What an honour!
Dana and Ronda were in the gym for about an hour and we got a chance to have a good chat with both of them, watch Ronda throw around a reporter a bit and shoot some photos with them. Dana was really impressed with the gym and the growth of the sport in Melbourne and he promised big things for the MMA in Melbourne after the UFC finally holds their first event here in November!

Her workout was really something to behold – using our sledgehammers and tyre, kettlebells, weight vests, Bulgarian bags and most of the other equipment in the gym, Joanna barely took a minute to rest the entire time she was in the gym! You can catch her workout on one of the upcoming UFC Embedded episodes as we get closer to UFC 193.

Absolute’s Jaskirat Chhina is ready to fight in the semi-finals of the Amateur boxing novice state title tournament this Sunday! Good luck Jaz!
The fights will be at the Reggio Calabria Club and tickets are $25 at the door. Full event info on the event calendar.
The Absolute BJJ team cleaned up at the IBJJF Asian Open in Tokyo on the weekend!
Brenton McKiterick won bronze in the brown belt division, Kim Cousins won silver at purple belt, Apryl Eppinger took gold at blue, Tim Baker and James Walters won silver and bronze respectively at blue belt, and Tina Trinh took bronze at white!
We also took 7th as a team in the female division – not bad considering we sent over only 3 female competitors!
Awesome results all round in such a massive competition! Well done to the whole team!

Unfortunately due to injury, Edwin Najmi will not be able to teach classes tonight at Absolute South Yarra. Coach Lachlan Giles will be taking the classes as normal.
Fresh off his Boa Super 8 tournament win, we are pleased to have two-time World Champion and two-time Brazilian National Champion teaching classes at Absolute MMA Melbourne CBD tomorrow!
This includes the 12PM No-Gi BJJ class at the 6.30PM Gi BJJ class. Classes are free, as always, for Absolute members. Casuals are $30.
With Edwin Najmi also set to teach classes at Absolute MMA South Yarra tomorrow, it’s going to be an awesome day on the mats!
On Monday, September 14 we are lucky enough to have Edwin Najmi, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Romulo Barral, World Champion at brown and purple belt, and one of the most talented grapplers of his generation, at Absolute MMA South Yarra to teach classes from 6.45PM.
As we expecting a large turnout for the class, we ask that people register their attendance ahead of time. The class is free for Absolute MMA members, $30 for non-members.
