On Wednesday, 16th September from 5.00 PM to 8.00 PM, we have organised for Dr. Peter Fraser, a dentist, to come into the CBD gym to do impressions for custom mouth guards. If you are interested in getting one (we certainly recommend them for anyone doing sparring), please head over the Absolute MMA Facebook group or stop up at reception to make your booking. Limited slots are available so please make your booking soon!

Cost: $110 (discounted from the regular price of $220)
Payment method: Cash only, to be paid directly to the dentist on the day.

With coach Lachlan Giles over in Brazil for ADCC, we are very excited to have Irish BJJ superstar Darragh O Conaill teaching all the evening classes this Wednesday, August 26th at Absolute South Yarra!

Darragh is a Saulo Ribeiro black belt, 2 x IBJJF No-Gi European Champion, 2 x IBJJF Gi European Medallist, Pan Am Medallist and Ireland’s youngest black belt so this is a night of training that can’t be missed!

Generation Muay Thai – Project Timor Leste is a project by our good mate Albert ‘Timorese Assassin’ Xavier and Absolute’s Anthonie ‘El Gringo’ Trejo!

The goal of the project is to give the Timorese youth access the art of Muay Thai, educate the children from schools and communities on basic health education and inspire the children to take up sports, stay fit and active.

A major part of the project will be supporting the local club, ‘Sport Dilie Benfica’ by supplying them with a new boxing ring and better boxing equipment!

A worthy cause so if you can, please get behind the guys and help them spread the beautiful art of Muay Thai!

On August 7 from 7pm, the guys are holding a fundraising night featuring live music and entertainment.

This week we sadly say farewell to our wrestling coach, Tyler Petee, as he is returning back to America on Monday. His last class is at the Melbourne CBD gym on Saturday at 11.30AM. We’re looking forward to seeing you all there to say goodbye!

To those feeling gloomy over coach Tyler’s farewell, don’t think that this will mean the end of wrestling at Absolute! We’ve got two stellar coaches lined up to take the wrestling classes starting next week!

Welcome to the Absolute MMA team Mehrdad Tarash and Connor Evans! We’re really looking forward to learning from two of the very best wrestlers in Australia!

With the exception of the Friday morning class in the CBD, wrestling classes will continue uninterrupted next week.
