It’s awesome to see one of our boxers, Andrei Shiller-Chan, getting such amazing reviews for his powerful show, ‘The Exonerated’!

Inspired by the infamous story of Rubin “Hurricane” Carter, the African American boxer who was wrongly imprisoned for murder from 1966 to 1985, Andrei started started his own theatre company and is directing ‘The Exonerated’ to raise awareness about other people who were wrongfully imprisoned for crimes that they didn’t commit.

‘The Exonerated’ runs until June 7 so head over to Chapel off Chapel in Prahran before it’s too late. The Sol III Company proceeds are donated evenly between Rubin Hurricane Carter’s ‘Innocence International’ and Liberation Prison Yoga so it’s a great cause.

Congratulations to coach Livia Gluchowska for taking out second place at ADCC Japan over the weekend!

The silver medal is sometimes a tough one to celebrate but considering that she defeated the 2014 black belt world champion in the semi-final, Liv certainly has a lot to be proud of!

An awesome opportunity to learn from some of Australia’s best grapplers tomorrow from 3PM!

Absolute’s Lachlan Giles and Ben Hodgkinson along with David Marinakis and Lee Ting will be presenting 2 hours of BJJ techniques and concepts (30 mins each) followed by a 1 hour open mat! All seminar proceeds will go towards supporting Australian grapplers going to the BJJ World Championships.

The seminar is open to all, Absolute member or not, and will be held at Absolute South Yarra (61 Commercial Road, South Yarra) and will cost $40.

On May 31 Absolute’s Sam Parsons, Jesse Turner, Will McGreal, Lachie Swann, Jaskirat Chhina, Karen Ng, Mandeep Mandhan and Hung Nguyen return to inter club boxing! This is likely to be the last inter club for some of the team before they make the step up to the registered amateurs!

Get out to St Albans on May 31 to support the team and catch some great bouts!
